At it's inception, Play On created a "Company of Players." Modeled after the classic Shakespearean company, our Company of Players is made up of actors, directors, designers, technicians, and so forth... in short men and women of the theatre.
Membership is by invitation only, and carries no dues or fees. The Play On Board of Directors offers membership in the Company to all who demonstrate a desire to remain a part of the Play On "family;" to think of Play On as their theatrical home base.
Members of the Company are not required to volunteer any minimum number of hours, or appear in a certain number of shows. They are free to work with other theatre companies, and may or may not be involved in as many Play On productions as they like.
They receive no preferential treatment in casting nor the assignment of leadership positions within Play On. Likewise, they receive no compensation nor any kind of tangible reward for being Company members. Membership in the Company of Players is a public statement by its members of their continuing interest in and committment to Play On, and an honor bestowed by the Board of Directors on those who have gone the extra mile to make Play On a flourishing community theatre.
